OLO RADIO - THE END

Yes sadly after 5 great years of broadcasting (live and in podcast form) we have decided to call it a day here at OLO Radio. We'll write more next week about why we decided to stop. We'll also be posting up some stats, facts and figures for the eggheads amongst you. You can still listen to and download ALL the podcasts right here right now (*UPDATE* SORRY WE HAD TO REMOVE THEM). The blog won't be deleted. We've collected up ALL 134 of the podcasts so they are safe. Hopefully we'll work out a good way to get them all to you.

Hello again,

This is just a bit of a round-up and a final goodbye from the OLO Radio team.

Maybe we should tell you why we decided to stop podcasting mixes. During the end of last year and the beginning of this year we really fell behind with making new mixes and updating the itunes podcast feed. The number of mixes we put out was really poor compared to the number in past years. I think most of the team lost interest in doing the mixes and had less time to make them due to a number of things. So we decided to stop. There's no point just doing just a few a year. Stop it! kill it! do something new! (more on that in a bit).

We've left you with 134 OLO Radio mixes to listen to / download whenever you ever want to. *UPDATE* SORRY WE HAD TO REMOVE THEM ALL.

As we said in the message above, when we manage to upload them all (it's gonna take a while!) we'll post links up here on this blog for you to download the whole lot.

We've really enjoyed running OLO Radio! In all the different forms its taken - the weekly live online radio streams, the pre-mixed podcasts, the live DJing (in the real world), and even within our OLO Worms live sets. It's been a lot of fun! We've really enjoyed having the special guest mixes made for OLO Radio too. So thanks to all the guests who made mixes for us and a BIG thank you to anyone who tuned into our radio signal. Cheers! x

Yes it's true, after months away (last OLO podcast was in January!!? That's embarrassing!) OLO Radio will be making a comeback very soon!! We have a new theme tune, jingles and we've got a few guest mixes lined up too.

We have history. This station has be running since 2005 when we used to produce live shows. In Oct 2006 we produced our first podcast. We've been going (pretty regularly) since then.

Tune in for the comeback!

Below is the new OLO Radio advert starring Steve Mason (Black Affair) & Les Bell (Old Jock Radio).

It was filmed at The Fence Collective's 2008 Homegame Festival in Scotland. The music in the background is The Pictish Trail playing live. The chat at the end is taken from the Old Jock Radio show (3/4/08).



Do make sure you do check out and tune into OLD JOCK RADIO, it's one of the reasons we started this whole thing up.

Having just checked our stats we have noticed we have just reached 10,000 podcast downloads! Is that good? Thank you to all you who helped us reach that number. We wanna see one billion in 2008.

AN AP-OLO-GY

Dear Radio Fans,

Oh my!! We are soo sorry we were off air for soo long. This will not happen again! To be honest there is no real reason for the absence other than..we got fat and lazy. So unfortunately this meant there was no Christmas or Best of the Year podcast.

However, while we were away Boonbeans did compile a few 'best of 2007' lists (for his own enjoyment), these can be viewed here.. SONGS / ALBUMS / VIDEOS / GIGS

We are all very excited about stepping back into the old OLO Radio studio again and creating lots of new mixes for you. We also have a whole load of special guest mixes for you coming up very soon.

Unfortunately due to the server problems we lost some of our old live radio shows, so we have decided not to upload the rest. However, we felt that we couldn't not share two of the best from last year, so we'll be posting them very soon.

IMPORTANT NEWS

Hello Olo Radio Listeners,

Unfortunately we discovered today that ALL Olo Radio podcasts have been deleted from the server without notice. We don't know if we exceded bandwidth capacity or if someone was just being nasty but they were all deleted right from under our noses.

We don't know when they will come back but check back here for updates on any news that we get. Apologies to everyone, especially those who have spent time doing podcasts for us in the past.
